Why did you conduct this study?

We want to contribute po in the field of tourism because there is a lack of study po on how seasonality affects tourist behavior at a specific location po which is San Fernando Pampanga. Understanding seasonality po can boost its tourists.

  • 2

What possible contributions can this study yield?

This research po provides useful information for students, marketing professionals, travel agents, local governments, tourists, and business owners. This study can enhance the understanding of peak and off-peak tourist dynamics, enabling more effective resource allocation.

  • 3

What problem prompted you to propose this study?

Numerous studies that have examined seasonality in tourism have only looked at larger or more well-known travel destinations. There is a lack of study on San Fernando, Pampanga and with this study we can contribute to its local tourism.

  • 4

How did you formulate the SOP?

Created by identifying key questions that shape the study's goals and guide data collection for a detailed analysis.

  • 5

What theory can you anchor this study?

Allcock's Seasonality in Tourism explains how seasonal fluctuations in demand create periods of high and low tourism activity, which is crucial for understanding tourist behavior. On the other hand Pine and Gilmore discusses the shift to an experience-based economy, highlighting that tourists seek meaningful experiences. This framework is relevant as it shows how seasonal changes significantly impact tourist satisfaction and experiences, particularly in San Fernando Pampanga.

  • 6

What is your research all about?

The study seeks to identify key seasonal influences that shape tourists' behavior, ultimately providing insights for destination management.

  • 7

What is the scope and limitations of the study?

The scope of this study focuses on how peak and off-peak seasons affect tourist behavior. Limitations po include insufficient data on outside factors like geographical scale and visitor spending. Gathering information po can be challenging due to seasonal changes and tourists' differing behaviors.

  • 8

What sampling techniques did you use?

    Purposive sampling

  • 9

What research methodology did you use?

    Quantitative

  • 10

What are the dependent and independent variables?

Independent variables are peak and off peak season while dependent variables are experiences, decision making, satisfaction, and spending patterns.

  • 11

Why did you use quantitative method?

Because it aligns po with the nature of the research problem and allows for accurate data collection on tourist behavior during different seasons.

  • 12

What did you find in your research?

Tourists tend to plan their trips around major events, significantly boosting local economy, while off-peak periods see a marked decline in tourism activity.

  • 13

What sources did you use for data collection?

Conducted through purposive sampling of tourists using face-to-face surveys. Correlational research method analyzed tourist behavior during peak and off-peak seasons, thereby enhancing the reliability of the results.

  • 14

Is your instrument adopted or researcher made? Why?

Adapted because it takes ideas from existing studies that have been proven to effectively measure how different seasons affect tourist behavior.

  • 15

What statistical method did you use?

    Pearson correlation
