    Professional work undertaken by a Landscape Architect for a client for a fee.

    Article 1 Section 2

    The Landscape Architect shall always practice his profession in a manner which brings honor and credit to the Landscape Architecture profession. No Landscape Architect shall participate in the commitment of any fraudulent and deceitful crime involving moral turpitude; nor abet any act which violates the rules of the practice of Landscape Architecture in the Philippines.

    Conduct of the Professional

    Landscape Architect. A natural person qualified by law to practice the Landscape Architecture profession in the Philippines

    Advocacy. When two (2) members of the Landscape Architecture profession express contradicting opinions which involve matters of the profession, the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects or any of its chapters, shall not hesitate to mediate and correct any undue bias, whether publicly or in private; and shall advocate or adequately present a position or clarification due.

    Promoting the Public Interest. In the practice of the profession, the Landscape Architect shall subordinate his personal interest, as well as the interest of his Client to the larger public interest. In the performance of his contractual obligation, the Landscape Architect shall endeavor to perform his work in a manner which enhances the environment, protect the public interest and the judicious use of resources.

    As part of his folio of works, the Landscape Architect shall include professional engagements which highlight the positive impacts of landscape planning and design on improving the quality of life, enhancing the environment and addressing social development concerns of the underpriveleged, minority and marginalized sectors of society.

    The Landscape Architect shall keep current his/her registration with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) by payment of Code of Ethics / Landscape Architects 2000 p 02 the required renewal fees. It shall be a requirement that those renewing their registration, upon expiry, should be members in good standing of the national integrated organization of Landscape Architects.

    The Landscape Architect is a faithful agent or trustee of his employer or client, providing them the full benefit of an objective professional opinion unaffected by other personal or financial considerations.

    The Landscape Architect is a faithful agent or trustee of his employer or client, providing them the full benefit of an objective professional opinion unaffected by other personal or financial considerations.

    Article 4 Section 9 Professional Commitment

    The Landscape Architect shall bill for and receive his remuneration solely from his stated charges for services rendered to his Client. The Landscape Architect shall not demand extra or additional remuneration from commercial or speculative profit from materials or services provided to his Client by others.

    Section 12. Fair Remuneration

    The Landscape Architect shall contribute to the welfare and advancement of his professional association, encouraging professional development of those entering the profession and strive to be a member in good standing of his association.

    Section 13. Advancement of the Association.

    The Landscape Architect shall be a member in good standing of the integrated national association of landscape architects by abiding by its rules and regulations including the dutiful payment of annual dues to the association.

    Section 14. Membership in Good Standing.

    Unity and Solidarity. The Landscape Architect should be a unifying, rather than a divisive force in the Association. He shall abide by the Constitution and bylaws of the Association, its policies and rules implemented by the Association's officers and members of the Board

    The Landscape Architect shall not do any harmful act or any utterance/imputation which would injure or damage the professional reputation, prospects, practice or employment of another Landscape Architect

    Seal and Use of Seal.

    The Landscape Architect shall seek and pursue claims for credit only for work or part of the work for which he was engaged to perform. No Landscape Architect shall claim credit for work done by other Landscape Architects; or shall make claims to full credit for work which has not been entirely nor solely done by him.

    The Landscape Architect shall obtain work solely on the basis of his experience and ability, advertising only in a dignified and responsible manner and not soliciting current clients of another Landscape Architect.

    The Landscape Architect shall adhere to the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines in promoting and protecting the rights of Filipino landscape architects, as embodied in the Landscape Architecture Act (RA 9053 ) of 2000 and its implementing rules and regulations

    Rights of the Filipino Professional

    No Filipino Landscape Architect shall allow himself to be an accessory or party to the illegal practice by a foreign Landscape Architect or a foreign entity, by consenting to act for and behalf in seeking to practice or offer Landscape Architecture services in the country. Neither shall a Landscape Architect offer or allow use of his name, signature or seal for the purpose of allowing a foreigner or entity to gain entry in the illegal practice of the profession in the country

    No Landscape Architect working with a foreigner or entity for a particular engagement, shall allow himself to be used or lend his name, signature and seal to the foreigner or entity if employed in a salaried position. Where an engagement requires the name,. signature and seal of a landscape architect, the landscape architect shall act as the local counterpart of the foreigner or entity and shall enjoy the rights, privileges and benefits accorded a local counterpart.

    The Landscape Architect shall hire or employ local landscape architects for projects he is engaged, and only may foreigners be considered for hiring when it has been adequately determined that no qualified local landscape architects residing in the Philippines are available or willing to be engaged for such work.
