Ways to launch the file explorer window

Click on the File Explorer icon on the taskbar., Type “File Explorer” in the search box, Press on the Windows logo + E on the keyboard.

This displays the file and folders in different locations.

navigation pane

These buttons are used to browse files and folders to and from those that you have already opened.

Forward and Back Button

The button that goes back to the last location or search result you were viewing.

back button

The button that returns to the next location or search result.

forward button

The button that opens the location where the folder you are viewing is saved.

up button

This holds different commands and actions in each type.

tabs

It can be found in the left corner of the title bar

quick access tool bar

This bar contains a set of commonly used commnds like New, Save, and Create New Folder in one click.

Quick Access Toolbar

This holds all the tabs for common tasks, such as copying and moving, creating new folders, and changing the view.

ribbon

This looks for an item in the current folder or library

search box

This shows details about the file such as date modified, size, and others and it shows a miniature picture of contents of the file.

Details/Preview pane

This is used to enter or select a location

address bar

This is where the contents of the current folder or library, as well as the search results, are displayed.

File List

This bar displays the total number of items in a location, the number of files and/or folders selected, and their total size.

Status bar

It will help you arrange and access your files and folders according to their file type
