Genesis Chapter 1 NIV The beginning

the heavens and earth

formless and empty,darkness was over the surface of the deep

the spirit of God

Let there be light

that it was good

light

day and night

on the first day God created the heavens and the earth and said let there be light onto the earth and he separated the light from darkness and named the light day and the darkness night

let there be a vault

to separate the water under the vault from the water above it

sky

on the second day god created a vault to separate the waters and called the vault sky

let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear

land

seas

that it was good

produce vegetation and seed bearing plants also trees that bears fruit with seed in it according to its various kinds

that it was good

on the third day God gathered the waters under the sky to one place and let land appear and called the dry ground land and the gathered waters seas and also gave the dry ground vegetation

God Created lights for the vault the greater light and the lesser light

to separate the day from the night

signs to mark sacred times and days and years

and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light to the earth

God made two great lights the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night he also made the stars

to govern the day and the night and to separate light from darkness

that it was good

on the fourth day god created the greater light and the lesser light to separate day from night and light from darkness and to give light on the earth and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times and days and years

for the sea he created living creatures to teem with the water and God Created birds to fly above the earth across the vault of the sky

so God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it according to their kinds and every winged bird according to its kind and God saw that it was good

God blessed the animals and told them to be fruitful and increase in number

he created creatures for the sea and birds for the sky and he blessed them and told them to be fruitful and multiply

living creatures according to their kinds the livestock the creatures that move along the ground and the wild animals

that it was good

then God said let us make mankind in our image in our likeness so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground

so God created mankind in his own image in the image of God he created them male and female he created them

God blessed male and female and told them to be fruitful and increase in number fill the earth and subdue it

God told them to rule over the fish the birds and every creature that moves on the ground

God gave them every seed bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it

that it was good
